PFC Nathan P. Brown “Pay a Good Deed Forward” Scholarship

PFC Nathan P. Brown was in Iraq for only six weeks before he was killed on Easter Sunday in 2004. A native of South Glens Falls, PFC Brown was assigned to the Army’s National Guard, 2nd Battalion, 108th Infantry, 1st Armored Division.

Nathan joined the Army National Guard with the goal of attending college, and hoped to eventually serve his community as a State Trooper or history teacher. He was posthumously awarded a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and New York State Medal of Valor. In 2019, Brown was inducted as a member of the South Glens Falls Bulldog Pride Hall of Fame, where he is a member of the class of 2002.

The Village to Village Foundation has created four “Pay a Good Deed Forward” scholarships that serve as living legacies for fallen service members. The non-profit organization coordinates with the veterans’ families when establishing the scholarship.
