Jasmine Frenette Tice Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was created in loving memory of Jasmine Frenette Tice by her mother, Liza Frenette. Jasmine was a deeply creative person who created a lot of art. She was a generous person, helping others from all walks of life. She was very proud of her degree from HVCC in criminal justice, an area of study which fascinated her. She later went on to study business and marketing at the College of St. Rose. She had dreams of owning her own business. Tragically, she suffered life-altering physical and mental trauma from domestic violence in a relationship she was in; and she struggled with alcoholism and addiction. Even through hardships, she advocated for and helped countless people; she was generous in spirit and action; she sought help; she prayed often; and loved her family. She grew up in Saranac Lake as a child; had loving aunts, uncles and cousins; and lived in Albany since she was 8. She loved and cared for the family dogs; loved sparkly lights and music, especially the local band The Deadbeats. While in college, she worked very hard. She was an avid reader and very bright. She is grievously missed.
Student must be a single parent or have grown up in a single parent household. Student must be enrolled in one of the following programs of study: criminal justice, addictions counseling, art studies or business/marketing at HVCC.
